A super piece of local history, salvaged from the old Stationary Wholesalers shop in the historic Sussex town of Hastings, this huge sign was hand made in the 1950's entirely from wood, remnants of the original paint can be seen underneath the worn white and light blue paint that would have been added to brighten the sign up whilst the wholesalers was still trading.

The sign was hidden from view for decades until the building sadly caught fire, it was then sold at auction and it was while the new owners were undertaking works to bring the building back to life that this sign was uncovered, still on the front of the building hidden from view under a fascia, we spotted it and were delighted to have rescued a small part of Hastings history. It is in it's as found condition. We have added a chain to the rear so it can be wall hung.

Width 203.5 cm, Height 34 cm, Depth 7 cm.

It weighs approx: 12 kg.

All our items are genuine antique/vintage pieces and therefore can have some signs of age related use or wear, this adds to the character and uniqueness of each of them.

We try to give accurate measurements wherever possible, however where items are unusual shapes please trust our approximate dimensions to be as close as possible.
