He traveled between 1860 and 1876 in England, the West Indies, the Canaries, France. He botanizes in the Pyrenees, the Jura, the Alps . Founder of Bryological Review in 1874, he was the editor until 1928, when he gives the load to Pierre Allorge, then to the Museum.
