Exceptional later 18th / early 19th Century Trophy of Armour, in the Neoclassical style, hand carved with areas of gilt finish, to the centre a Romanesque plumed helmet, overlaid on crosses spears, lances and a bugle with oak leaf and scrolling ribbon details.
This is a very rare and large plaque and has some historic repairs and iron reinforcements to the rear, probably carved of oak, with a later hanging loop to the back.
