French 19th Century Large Crested Chateau Mirror

A truly exceptional, and beautiful very large crested French mirror, Dating to the early 19th century, this mirror was removed from a chateau in the west of France, overall it is in superb condition, with only a few minor losses of the gesso.

The large crest surrounded by laurel leaf decoration, and capped at each end by a torchiere urn. The leaf decoration is continued around the frame, with applied gesso beading around the foxed plate. It is in a very striking creme with green and gilt detailing.
