A rare and beautifully preserved examples of late 19th-century Alpine folk art chairs, most likely originating from the Tyrol or southern Bavaria regions.

This pair retains a striking Prussian blu e ground and the backrests feature delicate, hand-painted floral bouquets in a palette of ochre, soft pink, and muted greens, traditional to the "folk baroque" style. The "heart-back" is a classic Tyrolean motif, historically representing love and devotion. These were often created as gifts to mark significant life events like weddings. Each chair bears a beautiful time worn patina, commensurate with age.
