He was converted to Christianity along with the king, at Christmas 496. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eUsually depicted as an abbot holding chains, fetters or locks, or manacles and is the Patron Saint of political prisoners, imprisoned people, prisoners of war, and captives, women in labour, as well as horses. Hand painted religious imagery with ancient German text to the bottom. Painted monogrammed design to the back. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWear and losses commensurate to the age. Fixed between oak poles each tipped with painted finials.
