An Exceptionally Rare and Elegant French Empire Crown and Basket Crystal Chandelier Circa 1900–1910
This magnificent antique gilt bronze and crystal chandelier exemplifies the height of Belle Époque opulence, showcasing a striking Crown and Basket design that seamlessly blends regal architecture with shimmering brilliance. Attributed with high probability to the legendary French glass house Baccarat, this piece represents the pinnacle of early 20th-century luxury lighting.
The fixture is crowned by a magnificent, hand-cast gilded brass framework arranged in a royal coronet. The sweeping, architectural ribs of the upper crown are meticulously strung with brilliant crystal octagons, rising to a stylized foliate finial. Defining the waist of the chandelier is a spectacular, rare gallery of crisply molded, frosted glass palmette leaves.
The clarity, heavy weight, and flawless refraction of the individual crystals strongly align with Baccarat’s historic, master-level production standards from this golden era.
Presented in excellent antique condition with a rich, authentic patina to the metalwork, this chandelier is a statement piece of unparalleled historical charm and exceptional craftsmanship.

The Crown has 6 arms and each of the top string of hanging crystals is approximately 6.5 cm in height.
Inside the four hidden lamp holders each take a single large bayonet B27 bulb.
